Step 1
Consultation and estimate.
We visit your property, measure, talk through styles and gates, and look for anything that affects the build, like slopes, rocky soil, sprinklers and property lines. You get a clear, written estimate, usually within a few days.
Step 2
HOA and city approval.
If you're in an HOA or your city requires a permit or review, this is usually the longest wait. HOA boards often meet monthly, so plan on anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. We'll give you the product details and layout to include with your application.
Step 3
Materials and scheduling.
Standard cedar and vinyl are usually available quickly. Composite, specialty colors, steel and anything custom-fabricated, like iron panels, family name gates and automatic gate systems, take longer. We'll give you a realistic date when you approve the estimate.
Step 4
Utility marking (811).
Before we dig, we request a Blue Stakes of Utah 811 locate so buried power, gas, water and communication lines are marked. It's required by law and takes a couple of business days. Private lines, like sprinklers and landscape lighting, aren't marked, so let us know where they run.
Step 5
Installation day.
Most residential fences go in over one to three days. We remove the old fence if needed, set posts in concrete, then hang panels, boards or rails once the posts are solid. Automatic gates add wiring, the operator, safety sensors and access controls.
- Clear the fence lineMove furniture, pots and anything stored along the fence before we arrive.
- Pets and kidsPlan to keep them inside or away from the work area while the yard is open.
- AccessMake sure we can get into the yard, and let neighbors know if we'll be working along a shared line.
- SprinklersMark sprinkler heads and lines near the fence so they aren't damaged.
Step 6
Final walkthrough.
When we're done, we walk the fence with you, check every gate and latch, show you how any automatic gate and remotes work, and clean up the site.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Don't see your question? Send it with your estimate request and we'll get back to you.
How long does it take to install a fence?
Most residential fences in Utah take one to three days on site. Larger properties, composite and custom metal projects can take longer.
How far in advance should I book a fence installation?
Spring and summer are the busiest seasons, so booking a few weeks ahead helps. Custom gates and iron work need extra lead time for fabrication.
Do I need to be home during installation?
Not the whole time, but we like to meet at the start to confirm the layout and at the end for the walkthrough. Make sure we can get into the yard.
Can fences be installed in winter in Utah?
Often, yes, as long as the ground isn't frozen too hard to dig. Mild winter stretches are a good time to beat the spring rush.
How long before I can use my new fence?
Posts are set in concrete, so we build in time for it to firm up. Your fence and gates are ready to use as soon as we finish.
