How we built it.
Horizontal cedar is one of the most requested modern styles in Utah. Long, level boards make a property look wider and cleaner, and the warm cedar tone softens concrete and stucco.
On a long run like this, the boards have to stay perfectly level from post to post, and the posts need to be set deep and plumb so the lines stay straight as the wood seasons. Getting that right is what separates a custom horizontal fence from one that looks wavy a year later.
Cedar can be left to weather to a silver-gray or stained and sealed to hold its rich color. Either way, it stands up well to Utah's dry summers when it's built on solid posts.
